The Sirui 50mm f/1.8 Anamorphic 1.33x Lens with Sony E mount is designed for APS-C cameras and increases the horizontal field of view by 33% compared to typical 50mm APS-C lenses with results similar to a 37.5mm APS-C lens.
Captured images can be de-squeezed to an anamorphic format of 2:4:1 at a 16:9 setting. With a fast design resulting in a focal ratio of f/1.8, this Sirui lens is made from an aluminum housing to remain lightweight at just 1.23 pounds, and features multilayer Nano lens coatings on Schott optical glass elements for exceptional clarity and sharpness. The Sirui Anamorphic lenses will capture images in a rectangular aspect ratio, with long horizontal lens flares and oval bokeh for an overall cinematic, artistically pleasing affect.
A key feature of this Sirui Anamorphic lens is the unique blue horizontal lens flares. These flares are produced with very little stray light and creates what Sirui has dubbed a subtle “Sci-Fi” look to your images. With 10 aperture blades, the Sirui 50mm f/1.8 has a shallow depth of field for easy subject separation.
