Observatory Plaques

Bob Schalck is an amateur astronomer who is now offering engraved wood observatory plaques.

Observatory PlaquesAccording to Bob, “A few folks asked if I could laser engrave a wood plaque for their observatory with the type of telescope they are using. So I designed and made several. These will make wonderful gifts for any stargazer with or without an observatory.”

Each plaque is custom made for the owner’s specific telescope. The plaques are made of Oregon Cedar, known for its long term durability and weathering for outside use. The wood will slowly age to a light grey color and resists bugs and fungi.

The plaque size is approximately  8” long by 5 1/4” wide. The wood is rough cut, with one face (engraved side) slightly smooth. The plaque sells for $25 and includes free shipping within the Continental US. You can reach out to learn more at oceaniclaserworks@gmail.com.
