ZWO FF APOs

The new ZWO FF APOs offer a series of mid-focal length refractors offering a modified flatfield Petzval quintuplet design that eliminates the need for a field flattener and are designed to offer wide views with pinpoint stars and flat corners. The telescopes have a dedicated reducer that converts them down from a mid-focal length to a short focal length scope.

While designed for astronomical nighttime imaging, with the proper solar filter such as Baaders Baader Herschel Wedge and Baaders Solar Continuum Filter, these telescopes will provide crisp solar views.

The ZWO FF APOs includes two extra low dispersion glass elements which offer excellent correction of chromatic aberration. The Petzval design eliminates the need to calculate the back focus distance of a field flattener providing the ability to use any filter wheel, any off-axis guider or other accessory without having to calculate the correct distance from the flattener.

All the lenses of the ZWO FF APOs are fully multi-coated and the tube is internally flocked to reduce reflections and absorb stray light. The tubes are made of CNC-machined aluminum, the rack and pinion focusing mechanisms are made of brass and the mechanical components are engineered to provide the best rigidity, performance and durability.

The ZWO FF65 offers a focal ratio of f/6.4 and an image circle of 44mm in diameter. The FF65 supports full frame cameras such as the ZWO ASI6200, with a central RMS radius of only 2.5 microns. The ZWO FF65 specifications include:
